Privacy Policy
Effective September 27, 2026
In short: CarScreen has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your playlists, logins and settings stay on your iPhone. We don’t sell data, and we only receive what’s needed to deliver the app’s content and your purchases.
Who we are
CarScreen (“the app”) is published by Mobyte (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
Information that stays on your device
The following is stored only on your iPhone and is never sent to us:
- The playlists you add (M3U links, playlist files, Xtream Codes server addresses and usernames) and the channels in them.
- Xtream Codes passwords, which are kept in the iOS Keychain.
- TV guide links, favorites, downloaded scenes, recently used settings and preferences.
- Screen mirroring: the frames of your screen are sent from the iPhone to your own display and are never recorded or uploaded.
Deleting the app removes this information from your device.
Services the app connects to
Your TV providers
When you play a channel or load a TV guide, your iPhone connects directly to the servers listed in the playlists and guide links you added. Those servers are run by third parties, not by us, and they receive your IP address and whatever they log under their own privacy policies.
CarScreen content
The app downloads its own content, such as the list of ambience scenes and optional ready-made lists of publicly available streams, from Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore). Ambience videos and their sounds are downloaded from Pixabay’s content delivery network. Like any web request, these services receive your IP address and technical request data. We don’t send any personal information with these requests.
Purchases
CarScreen Pro is bought through Apple’s App Store; we never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. To confirm and restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history for CarScreen, the app version and basic device information (such as the iOS version and your App Store country). What we don’t do
- No account or sign-up, and we don’t ask for your name, email or phone number.
- No advertising, no analytics SDKs and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
- We don’t sell or share personal information.
CarPlay
On CarPlay, CarScreen shows your channels and scenes on the car’s display and plays their sound. It doesn’t read your car’s data or your location.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply and keep a record of the conversation. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
Retention and your rights
Information on your device stays until you delete it or the app. Purchase records held by RevenueCat are kept as long as needed to provide your purchases and meet legal obligations. Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR and Türkiye’s KVKK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Email us and we’ll help, including deleting the purchase records linked to your anonymous app user ID.
Children
CarScreen isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
